FALL FOLIAGE TOUR - October 23rd, 2010

Our last tour of the 2010 Season and it promises to be our best.  Check out the dramatic scenery, fall foliage and wildlife along this stretch of the Schuylkill River from Douglassville down to the SRGA offices in Pottstown. If Mother Nature cooperates, this is clearly one of the most spectacular times to be on the water.  We will begin at the Ganshahawny Park and Boat Launch for about 30 minutes of preparation and instruction before launching to paddle down the Schuylkill River.  This is an easy stretch of river and it takes us about 1.5-2 hours to paddle down this stretch.  If you are lucky you will see Great Blue Herons, Red Tail Hawks, Kingfishers and maybe even the pair of Bald Eagles on their way upstream from their nesting site in Phoenixville.
