TRADITIONAL (GREENLAND) PADDLEMAKING

This 6 hour workshop takes participants though the steps of making a Greenland paddle. Participants will become familiar with common variations is Greenland paddle design and learn how to size a paddle. Then walking participants thought the steps of choosing lumber and making a paddle blank each person will then go to work carving their own Greenland paddle. Over the course of the day Chris Raab, an experienced paddle maker, will guide workers thought the process. At the end of the day every one will leave with a new paddle and the know how to make another.
